SAFEGUARDING MEMORY:
COMMEMORATING JEWISH
MASS GRAVES IN POLAND

Safeguarding Memory: Commemorating Jewish Mass Graves in Poland is a half-hour documentary narrated by Theodore Bikel that relays a few stories of now-elderly Poles who as teenagers witnessed massacres of Jews by the Nazis. They share their memories of these atrocities with Polish businessman Zbigniew Nizinski who has a keen interest in the subject. He works with Poland's Chief Rabbi Michael Schudrich and NY businessman Harley Lippman, a member of the US Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad, to commemorate these sacred spots by erecting monuments to the memory of the innocent victims.

In addition to PBS broadcasts, Safeguarding Memory has also been an Official Selection at several film festivals across the US. 2011
